My Approach to Helping
Imagine: you're lying in bed at night, desperately trying to fall asleep but every time you think about closing your eyes you remember something that you didn't do or even worse something that you're afraid will happen. You might not have to imagine the scenario above, you might be living it right now. Or maybe you constantly think that you're a burden or not good enough in one way or another. These thoughts suck the energy out of you until you have no desire to move, shower, or do much else but sleep. These situations are painful and there's a word for them: Anxiety and Depression. Wouldn't it be wonderful to not be constantly tormented by the thoughts in your head that make everything even small things a huge crisis or to not think that you're a burden to your friends and family? If you feel like any of the things I've described maybe we should talk.
When you're in the thick of things and nothing seems to be going right, it can be hard to see your way out of that situation. Having an outside source to assist you can be incredibly beneficial. Shining a light on the obstacles keeping you from stepping back into the daylight of being your best you. This is what I can do for you. Sometimes we need a kind and listening ear that we can trust to unload our feelings and problems on without judgement that we're crazy, stupid, or a burden. That's what therapy is all about!
