My Approach to Helping
Client's coming to work with me typically either feel stuck in an emotional state they know isn't healthy, are having a hard time even figuring out what they feel, or have a loved one asking (or telling) them to come to therapy. Regardless of how you have landed here, I believe good counseling begins with a genuine relationship, grounded in humor and honesty, where a client feels they can process their emotions and experiences without concern for judgement. From there, using an integrative approach, including EMDR, Psychoeducation, Collaboration, and a Trauma Informed approach, we will the begin the hard work of getting you the resources you need while also pulling on the threads of things that are keeping you stuck. With this approach, I have seen men find a more fulfilling life and achieve their counseling goals.
More Info About My Practice
Most client's would consider me a normal guy that has a heart to help other guys live more fulfilling lives. I became a therapist because I found my self sitting with a therapist around 2015 suffering with addictive behaviors and feeling stuck emotionally and relationally. After a couple years of hard work in therapy, I (with the help of other's and my therapist) decided it was time to go back to school to become a therapist. I continue my own personal therapy work today as I have experienced it being the primary tool for my continuing to grow as a therapist. Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy learning new things (woodworking, blacksmithing, home improvement), fly fishing, and hanging out with my wife and kids.
If you are on the fence about therapy, book a free consultation and let's talk. I love hearing folks concerns and answering any questions they may have about therapy.
