My Approach to Helping

Your well-being is the first priority; taking into account your specific needs, including your background, experiences, current circumstances, and your personal interests to assist you to be the best that you can be.

As the owner and founder of Wellspring Individual, Couples, and Family therapy, I am here to come alongside you in your family, social, and career relationships. Within our therapeutic relationship, I will integrate all aspects of your current circumstances, based on your own desires. This will include your mind, emotions, body, culture, and spiritual makeup, to assist you to gain a better understanding of your experiences, and work with you for healing. Through our therapeutic relationship I will assist you to be the best that you can be within your own world.

In relationship therapy people experience their circumstances within the context of a system. My philosophy takes into account each individual within different systems, including, family, couples, children, teens, extended family, and relationships within your workplace. Each individual adds to the dynamic of relationships through his or her experiences in a variety of these systems, such as, family, cultural, religious, ethnic, career, and societal influences.

You are the expert in your own experiences. I work collaboratively with you to help define, encourage, and assist, in a safe and trusting environment. My work incorporates walking alongside each individual, couple, and family during some of the most difficult and challenging times in their relationships. I focus on healing, resolving conflict, and working through life''s most challenging experiences.

My role as the therapist is to assist each person in assessing and identifying styles of communication, goals, past successes, internal strengths, and external resources, through his or her mind, body, and spiritual connections. My theoretical focus is through the lens of attachment, that is, how the bonds we create are effective, or ineffective, in our current lives (John Bowlby). In addition to attachment bonds that we experience, I also support my clients collaboratively to better understand life''s stressors and patterns of interaction that may or may not be promoting his or her well-being.

Memberships Include: AAMFT, ORCA, and ACA, NBCC, and National Scholars Honor Society.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

A trusting, confidential, environment is an important part of the role between the therapist and client. I provide a safe place for each person to explore his or her emotions, personal circumstances, and experiences. I will come alongside you to safely help you find answers to life's most challenging experiences. Having a relationship with a therapist gives you the ability to explore areas you were too concerned to go to in the past. The counseling process is a journey. A journey of hope for your future. I will work with you to set goals and help you to facilitate change for your future.
