My Approach to Helping
Whether you have been plagued with anxiety or depression or poor relationship choices for as long as you can remember, or they are a surprising new experience, you are not doomed to forever relive it. Your brain does not have to be like concrete, permanently set in the form of anxiety or depression or inappropriate relationships. It is "plastic," changeable with training.
Without judgment, and with understanding, sensitivity, and dollop of humor, we can sort out an underlying cause, look at it from different perspectives, and practice different responses. You can re-wire your brain for healthy responses because it learns what you teach it. Together we can create a plan of action that will include cognitive and physical/behavioral changes.
The research on the effects of nutrition, physical activity, and sleep on mood is truly exciting. Our physical selves are intricately bound to our cognitive and emotional selves. All of these will be a part of the plan for you to take back your life. If I determine that psychiatric medication may be helpful, I refer to psychiatrists I trust who respect the impact of expert therapy.
You deserve the best possible care with a therapist who will holistically help you manage your difficulties and change your life. Visit my website or call me.
