My Approach to Helping
Mariana Carpio is a bilingual (Spanish, English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with years of experience. She has a passion for helping children, teens, and young adults thrive in a complex world. Mariana specializes in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral issues (child therapy), domestic violence and/or intimate partner violence, grief, stress, parenting concerns, racial trauma, school issues, self-esteem issues, sexual abuse, other forms of traumatic experiences, including PTSD. Mariana completed her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees (BSW and MSW) at the University of Texas at Arlington and is the daughter of immigrant parents and a first generation college graduate. She utilizes a eclectic approach to working with her clients including, but not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy or trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT/TF-CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), attachment-based therapy (ABT), compassion-focused, culturally sensitive, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), and much more. Mariana understands that life transitions and experiences can have people feeling stuck at times. She understands the importance of people's cultural identity, meeting people where they are, and empowering people to build on their inner strengths and resources.
