My Approach to Helping
Are you looking for a healthier relationship? A more connected and fulfilling sex life? Are you looking for ways to navigate the challenges in life that leave you feeling proud of your choices, connected with others, and happy with who you are?
Whether you are struggling to address issues of intimacysexuality, communication, life transitions, trauma resolution or self advocacy, there is hope. I believe that the most frustrating of life's experiences can offer us a way to challenge and change the way we're living, and a way to grow yourself into the person you'd most like to be.
With over 27 years of experience, I can help. Together we can explore and resolve today's issues, even as we honor past lessons, and add new coping skills. I work in a manner that's compassionate but direct, clear, curious, and practical. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR, a very useful tool in treating Trauma Issues.

More Info About My Practice
My fee is $120.00 per 50 minute session. I accept Visa, MasterCard, cash, and checks. I don't take any insurance directly, but will be happy to provide you with all the information you need to submit a claim to your insurance company if they'll reimburse you for out of network visits.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
The purpose of therapy is to find, support, and grow the person you would most like to be. A focus on "dysfunction" is neither helpful nor respectful. Focusing on concrete skill building, integrity, and self trust will help create the life that you'd most like to lead.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Though you may be interested in a specific kind of therapy, for many people the most important factor in finding a therapist is the feeling of a "fit"; that is, a person with whom you feel comfort, safety, and in whose skills you have confidence. That's why I offer a free 20 minute consultation, so you can sit with me, ask any questions you may have, find out about my credentials, or just get a feel for what it's like to work with me. This may be especially helpful for those who are new to counseling.
