My Approach to Helping

Welcome to Pinnacle Psychology: The Pinnacle of Mental Health Services in The East Valley

Psychological Assessments for Autism, ADHD, and Specific Learning Disorders
Individual Therapy

**Now Accepting New Patients**
I specialize in individual therapy for adolescents and adults. Areas of focus include anxiety, depression, marital and relationships issues, trauma, addiction, skills building (such as boundary setting and assertive communication), and co-dependency. While my therapeutic approach varies depending on the specific needs and goals of each patient, I utilize techniques from Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Rogerian Therapy, and I have advanced training and certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I also offer psychological and diagnostic assessments for children and adults with ADHD, Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, cognitive concerns, family law issues, and many others. If you or a loved one need an assessment for work, disability claim, or a school IEP 504 plan I can help.

More Info About My Practice

My Education and Clinical Background...

I obtained my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and I am licensed psychologist with the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners.

While in graduate school I had experience working as a school counselor and developed my clinical skill set assessing children for academic and behavioral issues, and I have a strong understanding of the IEP and 504 plan process. I also gained experience with the Arizona Family Court system, were I obtained experience working with high conflict family disputes, including child custody evaluations and assessments.

After graduate school, I had the opportunity to complete my residency at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s in-patient treatment center in Minnesota, receiving an unparalleled experience in assessment and treatment of addiction and other mental health disorders. I then opted to complete an optional training year as a fellow at Hazelden’s outpatient clinic in St. Paul, Minnesota, were I gained advanced training and experience working with individuals experiencing both substance abuse and various other mental health disorders.

Ready to take the next step?
If you are ready to take the next step, we would start by setting up a free initial consultation. The consultation appointment is a 15-minute appointment (in-person or virtual), where you can ask any questions you might have and importantly, have the opportunity to meet with me to see if I am right person to help.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Diagnostic and Psychological Assessments
The reason I decided to pursue a doctorate and become a psychologist, was so that I would have the education, training, and experience to provide both induvial therapy and advanced diagnostic assessment services.
While virtually all licensed mental health professionals can offer therapy, as a psychologist I am able to provide comprehensive psychological testing and diagnostic services. Being able to use advanced testing tools help to make the therapy process tailored and more effective, which improves treatment outcomes.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

The Assessment Process- What To Expect:
Our assessments include: An initial 90 minute interview to discuss the challenges you're facing and to design a customized assessment, typically 2-3 appointments where you'll complete various tasks comprised of evidence-based assessment tools, a follow-up session to discuss the results and answer any questions you might have, and a written report including the results of the assessment and detailed recommendations for treatment. And EVERY step in the process is completed by a licensed psychologist.
