My Approach to Helping
My approach to therapy is holistic. I have experience with depression and anxiety. I also can help with life transitions, domestic violence and much more.
I believe each person is an expert of his or her life. You already possess the tools within yourself to make positive changes. I will help you discover those tools and assist you in life transitions so that you may find your true self. Do you feel like you're on autopilot? Life got you stressed out and you're just going through the motions. We will work together to help you recognize any thoughts or maladaptive behaviors that can produce painful feelings, that can lead to unresolved issues. Together we will discover your choices along with therapeutic goals to help you reach your full potential.
My approach to counseling the adult population is based on person-centered, solution focused and cognitive-behavioral theoretical approaches. Traditional talk therapy is not always comfortable for all clients, nor is it developmentally appropriate for children. Play therapy is used to engage and connect with children during session.
