My Approach to Helping

Hello! My name is Kory L. May. Licensed clinical social worker & psychotherapist, focused on healing from the residual effects of stressful and traumatic experiences resulting in Fundamental, Chronic and Complex trauma. My specialty is helping you discharge developmentally aroused, undisclosed excess causes of traumatized experiences, opposing your recovery, which will allow you to mentally access your desired automatic impulses on a daily basis. I have over 27 years of experience in various social settings that impact human behavior. It has been overstated in the past that life can be more than challenging, but also downright difficult.

Regardless of your culture, ethnicity or Social status, the challenges we face as human beings through our interactions with others within our internal and external environments take a toll on us both physically and emotionally. The behaviors w and habits we learn along the way to survive have a huge impact on our overall functioning, and undesired outcomes in critical areas of our life. This Includes family, professional and personal relationships, careers and finances. Over time if not properly managed, our health and well being may decline, and we begin to experience symptoms which may include anger, sadness, anxiousness, and emotional distress among many others. It is important to note that traditional mental health services treat the individual as a client only focusing on symptoms and behaviors, not the total person.

However I believe in a holistic approach which includes not only treating symptoms and behaviors, but through building authentic rapport in the therapeutic relationship, gathering culturally sensitive neurological developmental data, along with specializing in treating various complex traumas that may have had an impact in overall functioning. Together we can learn coping skills to manage learned behaviors that will provide you with the benefits of having a happy life and heal. My personal philosophy is that everyone has the potential to shine and achieve their best life, Let’s partner together to shine you light on the world.
