My Approach to Helping
As much as we want it to be different, each of us has times in our lives when we are experiencing concerns or circumstances that leave us feeling very alone. We often feel uncertain and overwhelmed with how to move forward. Our response to this kind of distress can affect our relationships, our health, our work, and other important areas of our life.
If this feels like your situation, and it is interfering with living the happy, satisfied life you want, I believe it is a sign of courage and strength to reach out for supportive help. You will be welcomed into a private, peaceful setting, and invited to share your concerns and begin the important work of restoring balance in your life.
My first goal as your counselor is to listen well. As we talk together, I draw from many years of experience and integrative theraputic approaches that encourage you to connect with, and utilize, often overlooked or underestimated inner strengths and resources. This guides you toward making positive changes that lead to personal growth, help you feel better, and to believe in, and achieve, your goals.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
Reflecting on my journey, both personally, and professionally working as a therapist in a social service agency, as an elementary school and parish counselor, and now exclusively in my private practice, I have learned how the need for wholeness and wellness has become a collective theme. It seems all of us struggle to manage daily living and relationships more effectively. This can be challenging as we consider how we care for our physical health, the way we are affected by our thoughts, and how we handle our emotions. Our spirituality, the environments in which we live, work and play, and our relationships, also contribute significantly to how we experience healthy living. There are so many demands on our daily lives, our relationships, and unexpected experiences that can interfere with well-intentioned efforts to keep our lives balanced in these areas.
My understanding has deepened through my personal and professional life experiences of my belief in the capacity we have been given to live our lives in an intentional, balanced way toward wholeness.
My passion and joy deepens as I work with people interested in exploring areas in their lives where they want to experience growth and new life. I strive to support the wellspring of wisdom within others that helps to restore balance, empower strengths and inner resources, and encourage healthier living and healthier relationships.
