My Approach to Helping
There is nothing more human than the need to be heard by another. It is my belief that as we each face changes in our lives we are often already equipped with all the wisdom and resources we need to withstand the stress. As your therapist, I want to partner with you to draw out your desires and goals for this phase of life. Whether you are facing an actual change that you have decided to pursue, a transition in life that has taken you by surprise, or you have noticed more challenges with your well-being; you do not have to go it alone. I may bring the expertise in scientific research and the process of therapy, but each client possesses the expertise about their story. It is my hope we can build a relationship that allows us to examine this chapter in a way that feels safe, convenient, and worthy of your time.
For this reason, I often focus on monitoring progress using a solution-focused approach heavily influenced by cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy woven together with narrative therapy to draw out your unique experiences. I have worked with clients facing challenges to their mental health, transitioning into a new phase of life, and learning how to improve their coping.
