My Approach to Helping
I focus my work on recognizing the strengths you inherently possess and meeting you where you are throughout the therapeutic process. I use a warm, upbeat and accepting approach to put my clients at ease while we learn to sit with and move through whatever may have brought you into the therapy room. It is my goal to work together with you to create a life that has value and meaning. I recognize the importance of creating a familiar, comfortable relationship when establishing a therapeutic relationship, which is why I always prioritize building a connection and trust first.
I provide individual therapy rooted in mindfulness and a client centered approach. I recognize your inner expertise and we will work towards your goals at a pace that feels comfortable to you. I have an eclectic approach, pulling from numerous modalities including Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, ACT and EMDR based on the needs of my clients at the moment.
I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and substance abuse. I am passionate about working with LGBGTQ-IA individuals, women, and young adults (18+). I received my Bachelors degree in Social work from Salisbury University and my Masters in Social Work from University of Maryland Baltimore. However, I consider myself a lifelong learner and will often incorporate what I am learning into our sessions if it is applicable.
