My Approach to Helping
Karen Johnston Is a Resident in Counseling (RIC) working towards full licensure as an LPC with over 6 years of experience. She is passionate about helping people and couples of all ages and backgrounds address challenges and trauma they may have faced in the past or are currently facing. Karen specializes in anxiety, grief, trauma, depression, behavioral problems, and relationship issues. Karen completed her Master's degree in Counseling at Regent University. She is a former military spouse with experience navigating military life. She utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy and utilizes multiple treatment approaches such as mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed techniques. Karen will support you and partner with you as you gain new insights and perspectives which will help you gain new strategies to cope with whatever you are facing.
