My Approach to Helping

Being your authentic self in this world can be hard, but it is possible. Often times we have things weighing us down that get in the way of that process. I want to guide you on your journey of self-discovery and help you recognize your own strengths. My wish is for you to find support and become more empowered.

Counseling is one way you can begin to work through these challenges. It offers an outside perspective and a type of scaffolding as you build yourself up. As a counselor, I may have knowledge from schooling, but I also have lived experiences too that make me who I am. Everyone has something that drives them, and I want to help you find that part of yourself. I also want you to know that each emotion has a function, whether we realize it or not in that moment. You are not a “bad” person for feeling a certain way.

I want you to heal, experience more confidence and become better informed along the way. This process may start with counseling, but it continues with you. If you connect to these thoughts, then I invite you to contact me!

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have several areas that I have a good deal of related knowledge and experience with, for example: working with folks who identify as neurodivergent in both school and community settings. I have also worked for 3 years with individuals who are diagnosed with both mental illness and a substance use disorder. In addition, I enjoy working with adolescents, (ages 14 and older) because I know they are trying to navigate the world of becoming an adult. Lastly, I have a passion for assisting those with chronic health conditions on their journey of grief to acceptance, as well as helping them develop their boundaries and teaching them how to advocate for their needs.
