My Approach to Helping
Do you have an adolescent that is experiementing with drugs, making questionable decisions, manipulative, sexually acting out, angry, depressed, oppositional? These are just a few of the issues I specialize in working with in my practice. I have had 8 plus years working with adolescents in various settings. My approach is a family systems and trauma approach that views all aspectsviewpoints of each member of the family. They aren't bad kids, they're misunderstood. I pride myself in my ability to build rapport fast with teenagers and create an environment and therapuetic alliance that is relaxed, free of therapeutic jargon so that my clients can open up.
I have worked with families in serious crisis for the past three years. I've worked in substance use treatment facilities and inpatient hospitals. I understand substance use concerns and the toll that these types of issues play on the family system. The goal: to learn what substances are giving my client (escape, relaxation, etc.) and replace.
Foundational to my practice is the belief that we have the power to help ourselves, sometimes we just need help asking the right questions. If you and your family need support navigating conflict or a difficult time, allow me to help via familyindividualcouple's counseling. They say the grass is greener on the other side; let's try and find the other side.
