My Approach to Helping
Are you ready to do the work? I want to help.
Pain is part of what makes us human; the way we move through pain is how we grow. Our work together can strengthen resilience and equanimity when confronting the challenges that life inevitably brings. I work collaboratively and compassionately with my clients to help them develop a nurturing and dynamic sense of self, community, and the world, fostering stronger connection to the people and resources that can support them outside of therapy.
I work from a holistic and eclectic perspective combining somatic techniques, CBT, narrative interventions, and mindfulness practice - all informed by a social justice lens. I believe in the power of humor to help clients feel safer reconnecting with their emotions and deepening their insight. My style is direct yet warm, practical yet aspirational.
My therapeutic focus is working with adolescents and adults suffering from eating disorders and disordered eating, anxiety, perfectionism, and pressures of over-achievement. I have extensive experience working with clients in crisis, and understand that life can get messy. All are welcome regardless of body size, race, age, gender or sexual orientation.
