My Approach to Helping

Hello! My name is Jessica Moreno, and I currently hold my LCSW. My approach to therapy is individualized and holistic. I have experience providing ACT, DBT, trauma-focused therapy, and crisis therapy. My approach to therapy is individualized and holistic. I have experience providing ACT, DBT, trauma-focused therapy, and crisis therapy. I have worked with people who have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, eating disorders, etc. I'm comfortable treating the previously noted diagnosis.

I try to create an open and interactive environment in which clients can express themselves. I remain open-minded and relaxed. The dialogue is guided by the client's interests and therapy goals, but I'm also open to exploring other topics that are on their mind. I allow clients to express themselves instead of talking to them. I am passionate about helping people who are dealing with mental health. I see a person first before a diagnosis. I want to help people reach their best potential in a caring and compassionate way.

I approach goal setting in the beginning stages of therapy. I introduce the topic and allow the clients to actively engage in setting goals. Goals are client specific and have to be SMART. During the first session, I introduce myself, discuss therapy expectations, discuss HIPPA, policies, and allow clients to ask questions. Then, at the end of the first session, I inform clients that they should begin thinking of goals to discuss during the next session.
