My Approach to Helping

Good Grief. Life’s unpredictability, difficult relationships, and traumatic experiences, losses can leave us feeling confused, stuck, anxious, depressed even…hopeless. As a relational therapist, my purpose is to move with you, through your pain, discovering together how the grief you are experiencing might be the precise path towards redemption, wholeness & growth. After all, the human project is the journey of transforming our suffering…the hero’s journey. Let's meet the work of life changes and healing grief...together.
My master's degree specialized in trauma-informed Relational Psychodynamic Therapy. Basically, the therapist and client relate in the 'here and now,' establishing a transformative connection through a supportive presence. I offer the option for clients to engage in either traditional talk therapy or explore other powerful somatic art therapy modalities.
Life IS change. We are all born with an innate capacity to triumph over life's challenges and trauma, ushering in new chapters of our life story. Let's meet the work of our failures, life's bewildering change, of grieving both big and little losses, together, so you can come alive again, aligning in hope. Processing our grief engenders authenticity. And reminds us of the beauty of life's complexity. Let's begin!

I approach therapy through a respectful and ever-evolving awareness of multi-cultural and social justice approaches.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I am a childhood abuse survivor, a three-time loss survivor of suicide, and am in recovery for substance abuse disorder. I know the dark side of life, and inner turmoil, and have channeled it to awaken me to a more authentic and joyful adulthood. Creative practices and the arts have always been therapeutic tools for me, particularly dance, poetry, and painting. It wasn't until I researched their therapeutic efficacy that I began to understand how it was I survived my own childhood, suicidal ideation, and substance abuse. And traditional talk therapy worked wonders as well! I believe we are here to help each other, even if that means doing the difficult and bewildering work of growing through our pain...together. It is so worth it, and so are y o u !
