My Approach to Helping
People choose to go to therapy for numerous reasons. From recent life stressors to long-term struggles with anxiety or depression, therapy can be a way to increase adaptability, happiness, coping, and overall quality of life. For some, therapy is about treating an identified problem, while others focus on personal growth and general well-being. Either way, therapy can be an important catalyst for positive change.
I treat a broad range of individual and couples issues, having been trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Counselor, and Clinical Psychologist. My special interests include health psychology - helping individuals, couples and family members coping with illness; trauma - providing prolonged exposure therapy; and couples therapy - including non-traditional relationships and divorceco-parenting.
I incorporate an empathetic, practical, and relational style to therapy, with a touch of humor and creativity. I believe that therapy is a collaborative relationship and together, we will work to identify and change the mental, emotional, andor behavioral patterns that are preventing you from feeling your best.
