My Approach to Helping
Jennifer Elkins, LCSW-C, is a licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Reisterstown & Ellicott City, MD, as well as via Telehealth. Her primary focus is Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Attention Disorder, and Post Traumatic Disorders. Therapy is an opportunity to think out loud with a non-judgmental, supportive professional outside of your typical world. Ms. Elkins utilizes a combination of Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Systemic Therapy, and Crisis Intervention to helps you identify, manage, and cope with your symptoms.
In particular, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a common type of psychotherapy that helps you increase awareness of inaccurate or negative thinking patterns. Thus, you can respond to challenging situations more effectively. Ms. Elkins offers her support and insightful comments to uphold her deep-rooted belief in the possibility of change and the importance of maintaining hope. She works with the in-house Medical Director, Elsa I. Correa, MD, if medication management is required.
Talking to someone who has no connection to you personally in a warm, safe environment can be a very freeing experience that starts you on the path to improved mental wellness. Ms. Elkins can partner with you to provide a treatment plan that is tailored to you.
