My Approach to Helping
Are you feeling overwhelmed by stress or feeling like you're not coping as well as you once did? Maybe these feelings are a result of a major (or minor) life change, a relationship problem, or you have struggled for some time & know that it's time to get help. It can be difficult to place faith in a stranger, & beginning therapy can be awkward or even scary. However, couples & individuals who I have worked with have experienced a greater sense of purpose, an improved sense of self, and better relationships. I have helped my clients cultivate healthy relationships & break out of dysfunctional patterns.
I specialize in both individual and couple therapy. I treat highly sensitive individuals, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and personality disorders. In relationship counseling, I work with many different issues, from betrayal trauma, to basic communication, to couples exploring ethical non-monogamy. I also work with couples who are questioning their relationship path. I encourage clients to own their struggles and be truly authentic, whatever their stage in life. I help clients process negative patterns and change limiting beliefs, stop cycles of disconnection, heal emotional wounds, and adopt effective communication and secure attachment behaviors. I work to provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to learn tools to deal with difficult or uncomfortable emotions by using humor, compassion, humility, and straightforward, research-driven feedback to support clients on path towards healing.
