My Approach to Helping
Every parent’s dream is to see their child happy, healthy, and well-adjusted. Modern day parenting brings challenges with technology; from screen time use to social media to the smartphone. Other pertinent themes include bullying, violence and the fear of drugs. As an immigrant mother of two tweens and navigating my own parenting challenges, I can empathize with parents and children straddling two cultures. Our frustrations with inherited generational parenting patterns may also no longer be working in this current climate.
Frustrations your child may be experiencing can lead to isolation, anxiety and depression that looks like “acting out”. This is where I step in and work towards understanding your child’s specific needs and help them reach their full potential.
A consistent, safe, healing space can be a truly transformative experience. I work in a holistic way, and this means including parents throughout the process in order to achieve lasting effects for your family.
My integrative approach incorporates various therapies, including play therapy, art therapy, sandtray, child-friendly mindfulness techniques, as well as psychodynamic and cognitive behavior modalities to bring about healing and change.
