My Approach to Helping
I am licensed in Georgia as a licensed (clinical) professional counselor, and I have been in practice since 2014 when I graduated from Argosy University, Atlanta, with a Masters in Community Counseling. I have worked in residential treatment centers, for an outpatient mental health clinic, private practice, as well as with military families in school settings.
My primary therapeutic approach is person-centered, and I enjoy helping adolescents and adults live happier, healthier lives, by improving their mental health and education. In my experience, I have worked with those who suffer from or have concerns including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, communication, critical thinking, and other behavioral issues. My approach combines solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy, and experiential therapy, to name a few. I also have experience, personal and professional, working or engaging with people from diverse backgrounds. Based on the initial session, treatment will be tailored to the needs of each individual. I welcome the opportunity to improve day to day functionality.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy playing basketball. I also enjoy crafting, spending time with my family and dog, and traveling to new places.
