My Approach to Helping
Hi, my name is Dr. Erika Hill, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I have 12 years of experience in the mental health counseling field. I am well versed in working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, Master’s in School Counseling, Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Contemporary Mental Health Services, and Bachelor in Behavior Analysis and Sociology.
I like to use a humanistic approach to help clients focus on the power already within them. I mostly use theories grounded in solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, family systems, mindfulness-based intervention, and client-centered. I have worked in middle and high school settings, college and universities, behavioral residential treatment centers, and Private Practice.
You have taken a very positive step by deciding to seek counseling. The outcome of your treatment depends largely on your willingness to engage in this process, which may, at times, result in considerable discomfort. I cannot promise that your behavior or circumstance will change. However, I can promise to support you and do my very best to understand you, any negative repeating patterns, and help you clarify what you want for yourself.
