My Approach to Helping
I find that no matter what primary "problem" a person or family brings to psychotherapy, it is an expression of their desire to be happier, better balanced, and more fulfilled. I work together with my clients to find practical solutions, as well as deep self acceptance and understanding. I do this with careful listening, and encouragement. I believe that we all need to nurture our emotional, social, physical, intellectual, and spiritual selves. We also need to understand ourselves. My clients can expect to explore their family and personal histories in depth. This process will encourage improvements in the their intimate relationships, community involvement, and productivity. I believe that service towards others and true caring for one's community are a necessary part of mental health and a true measure of progress.
