My Approach to Helping
Are you good at being there for others, but struggle with your own emotional self-care? Do you struggle with setting healthy boundaries for yourself in your relationships? Do you wish you could heal the wounds of your childhood trauma? Are you experiencing feelings of anger, loneliness, sadness, or invisibility from growing up with an emotionally neglectful parent or family? Do you tend to take on too much responsibility when differences arise in your relationships? Do you experience gaslighting from an emotionally abusive narcissistic relationship in your life? Are you experiencing grief and loss of a loved one or friend? You don't have to go through these struggles alone.
I specifically help people work through challenges connected to: bereavement, challenges with setting boundaries, adult children of alcoholics (ACA) and adult children of narcissists. I will help you process what you're going through, explore unhelpful patterns, and help you learn how to set healthy boundaries as well as develop self-compassion.
I provide a warm and welcoming space in which to explore the challenges you are having. We will work collaboratively as you identify the difficulty you are having and we'll focus on your goals for therapy.
Please contact me to see if we'll be a good fit to work together and if you plan on using your insurance, please mention your in network insurance coverage.
More Info About My Practice
I've been a therapist since 2005, though I've been a "helper" all my life. I have a variety of clinical experience ranging from working with abused children in a residential facility, helping opiate addicted adults with their addiction and recovery, treating adults with a wide range of presenting problems in a community mental health setting for 10 years, and have been in private practice since October 2018. My true passion is helping my clients heal from childhood trauma connected to ongoing challenges with their family of origin relationships as well as helping them develop and strengthen healthy boundaries both for themselves and within relationships.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I have deep compassion, patience, and understanding for my clients as I know firsthand how painful and challenging it is to heal from grief and loss, people pleasing, guilt, shame, painful family of origin dynamics, the feeling of "not being good enough," and how hard it is to learn and practice developing healthy sustainable boundaries both for oneself and in one's relationships. It can feel overwhelming and discouraging when there's so much transformation you'd like to see in yourself, but it can feel impossible when it's not something you can simply change in a short period of time. I believe both my own personal journey and professional clinical experiences with these aforementioned challenges bring more healing power, insight, and hope to what I can offer my clients.
