My Approach to Helping
Dorothy Rose Forgione has been a dually licensed therapist for over 20 years. She has been working in private practice since 2005 and in clinics since 2002, with over 30 years of experience in various clinic settings, including IOP and parole groups. She also ran co-occurring groups. She has experience with all mental health diagnoses, such as bipolar issues, borderline personality, multiple personality condition, antisocial personality, schizotypal and schizoid personality, and all phases of depression and adjustment issues. She also has experience in PTSD and all phases of addiction, with many successful cases. Dorothy is also a skilled couples therapist.
She incorporates case management into her therapy when applicable, assisting clients with housing, programs, and education. She also uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as mindfulness, client-centered Rogerian, ACT therapy, and DBT when needed. She prides herself on her ability to assist clients in positive life changes. She views her work as a calling and cannot picture herself fully retiring ever, as she enjoys what she does.
