My Approach to Helping
Seeing people feel better is what motivates me to do this work and to provide rapid relief from presenting issues including anxiety, depression and related symptoms by teaching effective tools and techniques and addressing the underlying problem areas directly. Many clients tell me that prior therapists were good listeners, or did talk therapy that temporarily felt good but working with other therapists didn't address the underlying problems or relieve the anxiety/depression symptoms. Because I care about the people I work with, I utilize methods that are proven to be effective.

Both office locations are conveniently located with plenty of parking and wheel chair access. I provide insurance billing and accept credit cards (as well as cash or checks).

I have specialized training in the treatment of anxiety disorders. I completed my 3,000 hours of internship required for licensing in California at the Anxiety Treatment Center in San Jose, Ca supervised by Ed Bourne,PhD author of The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook, Natural Relief for Anxiety and other titles. I have received continuing education in this area and have over 25 years experience in treating: Panic, Agoraphobia, Social Anxiety, Phobias, Generalized Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and related issues such as depression, anger management, self-esteem, relationships, work and career issues,and childhood trauma. I have created a series of Relaxation/Guided Imagery sessions dealing with these issues and more available for download from our website www.anxietytreatmentservices.com. We offer the only Anxiety Support Group in the South Bay Area as well as onsite behavioral therapy for exposure/desensitization.

The psychotherapy that we offer at Anxiety Treatment Services first of all creates a sense of hope that anxiety disorders like Panic, Agoraphobia, OCD, PTSD are indeed treatable. We start with cognitive-behavioral tools and techniques that provide immediate and ongoing relief - naturally, including retraining the nervous system to relax. We address attitudes and habitual ways of thinking that need to change, as well as underlying emotional patterns and automatic reactions. Therapy is more effective because we take a whole-person approach incorporating diet, exercise, meditation as well mental and emotional issues .
