My Approach to Helping
I am a trauma-informed psychologist with a strengths-based approach that is grounded in the fundamentals of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This means that I believe that everyone in life experiences situations that affect their beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and values, sometimes in unhelpful ways. My focus areas are relationship issues (romantic/family/friends), trauma and PTSD, couples counseling, anxiety, depression, anger management, career counseling, family conflict, infidelity, self-esteem, stress, among other issues. Healthy relationships with yourself and others can improve your overall well-being and mental health.
I use a variety of scientifically supported treatments, including CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), the Gottman Method, and other therapies to help you gain the skills you need to meet your goals. I am an ally and provide a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community as well as poly or non-monogamous couples.
I strive to create a safe, caring, and compassionate environment to help you feel comfortable strengthening the connection and understanding to yourself and your internal experiences. Some of my core values in life are human connection and non-judgment. I can help you connect with yourself, which will help you connect with others and live a meaningful life.
