My Approach to Helping

For most of us, becoming a parent changes our lives so dramatically that we may lose sight of the person and parent we truly wish to be. Many of us think "this is not how I thought it would be" at some point during the perinatal period. Our culture provides limited (if any) support to new parents in their transition to this important role and many parents find themselves struggling with lack of sleep, anxiety, (sometimes scary) intrusive andor obsessive thoughts, marital conflict, and communication breakdown during the first weeks, months, and years of parenting.

My approach is warm, client-centered, and solution-focused. I use various approaches depending on what your needs are. Some examples of approaches I am trained in are acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). We will work together toward goals that move you in the direction of the life that you want.

More Info About My Practice

My goal is to help you achieve holistic wellness that includes mind, body, and spirit during the perinatal period. Parenthood is a time to be treasured but mental health challenges can prevent us from soaking it all in. As your perinatal therapist, we will work together to remove the barriers that get in the way of you fully showing up and being present for these precious moments.

My Role as a Therapist

I'm sure you've heard the saying "it takes a village to raise a child". In this ideal village of care that all families need, I see myself as fulfilling the mental wellness piece of the puzzle. Oftentimes we are so focused on the pregnancy, new baby, or children's needs that we forget to tend to our own needs as caregivers. I am here to help you breathe, take time for self-reflection, and to chart a course that is in alignment with what truly matters to you
