My Approach to Helping

I specialize in providing compassionate and evidence-based therapeutic support to individuals of all ages, with a particular focus on children, adolescents, and adults navigating complex mental health challenges. My clients are often someone who is seeking guidance and support in overcoming trauma, building resilience, and enhancing their overall well-being. Whether they are struggling with trauma-related issues, oppositional behavior, substance use, low self-esteem, or navigating the foster care system, my goal is to create a safe and supportive space where they can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

My clients are often those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or behavioral challenges. During initial sessions my goal is to get to know who you want to be and what goals you have for yourself in a safe, warm, judgment-free environment. After that we work together as a team to help you work towards your therapy goals. One thing that I enjoy is teaching clients how therapy works and helping each client to create and become competent in using their own emotional toolbox.

I aim to empower my clients to develop coping skills, improve self-awareness, and cultivate healthier relationships. My approach is rooted in building strong therapeutic relationships, collaborating with clients and their families, and utilizing comprehensive assessments to tailor interventions to meet their unique needs.

Working together with my clients we tailor a therapeutic approach that will be the most beneficial. For example, EMDR and CPT are often useful for treating PTSD. While interventions from CBT or Positive Psychology may be useful in dealing with anxiety. Play therapy can be an excellent way to engage younger clients in therapy.
