My Approach to Helping
I honor where you are at and understand that you are the expert of your own life. I greatly value collaboration to reach your goals. I started my experiences working with vulnerable and at-risk populations, where I became proficient in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and developed some training in Families OverComing Under Stress (FOCUS). From these trainings, I have developed therapeutic skills related to coping with stress, communication training, and unpacking complex trauma stories. I work from a wide range of therapeutic lenses, including Narrative, Solution-focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Attachment, and trauma-focused therapies. I'm also trained in the Gottman approach for couples therapy, and have a deep passion for working with LGBTQ+ couples. There is a special place in my heart for working with the LGBTQ community. However, I strive to provide quality and affirmative care to anyone I work with. I know how important it is to find the right therapist and feel a sense of connection that will lead to you feeling supported and empowered.
