My Approach to Helping
I have over 15 years of clinical experience working with clients of various ages and cultural backgrounds. I've provided individual, family, and group psychotherapy in a wide range of settings, including rehab facilities, community centers, homes, hospitals, and outpatient settings. My skill-set includes crisis intervention, anger management, mood and anxiety issues, substance use and other compulsive behaviors, trauma-related concerns, and personality disorders.
Education and Credentials:
I am a fully licensed clinician with a B.A. from North Park University and a Master’s Degree focused on counseling psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago. I've also received certification in both partner violence and adult sexual assaulttrauma counseling.
Philosophy and Approach:
My personal values are mainly centered around health and wellness, humor, and self-awareness. I encourage personal growth by helping clients self-reflect, expand their perspectives, and utilize their individual strengths and resources. Clients learn to change the way they relate, think, and talk about their issues.
In therapy, different approaches are personalized to meet client needs. The client’s goals are met by utilizing a variety of CBT, DBT, and ACT therapeutic strategies. I also incorporate an integrative approach and emphasize daily movement, balanced nutrition, and adequate sleep in the treatment planning process.
