My Approach to Helping
Dr. Chanel Young-Pope is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. She is also a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a former United States Army Officer; having combined service in both branches totaling 24 years of military expertise. Dr. Young is passionate about helping women, adults, veterans, and seniors to address their unique challenges associated with work-life balance/burn-out, depression, anxiety, complex grief, trauma, relationship issues, poor adjustment, phase of life issues, and major life transitions. Dr. Young holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University’s Professional School of Psychology, an “en passant” Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, a second Master’s Degree in Community Clinical Psychology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Norfolk State University. Dr. Young utilizes multiple treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and various integrative clinical techniques.
