My Approach to Helping
*Currently Accepting New Clients*
My approach is grounded in empathy, acceptance, authenticity, and often humour. I believe you are the expert in your life, and I work with you to facilitate change and cultivate meaning in your life. I offer a free consultation and work with individuals, couples, families, children, and youth. I believe therapy should be a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences while reconnecting with your values, goals, and relationships to align you with your true self. Change can be uncomfortable and frightening. I celebrate your strength to lean into that discomfort on your healing journey.
My client-centered approach in therapy is founded on the belief that everyone deserves to share their stories in an environment with unconditional positive regard. I work from a collaborative, strength-based perspective, meaning I seek to recognize the skills, talents, and resources you carry while helping you to find meaning in your experiences.
My work is also grounded in systemic, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive frameworks, where I seek to explore the systems, relationships, and narratives that impact your experiences. My additional training and research have been focused on grief and bereavement, forgiveness in couple and family settings, perinatal loss, and self-compassion.
Throughout my work, I have come to realize that compassion, both to ourselves and to others, can be a powerful tool in discerning our preferred ways of being, in creating the life we want for ourselves, especially during a pandemic. At Psychotherapy Collective, our online clinic, we strive to help clients live a life aligned with their values. Visit our website, call me, or email me to schedule a free consultation. I am here to support you on your journey.
