My Approach to Helping
Welcome! I am Beth Chapman, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor serving Coloradans via teletherapy. and I celebrate your courage in searching for this site! My approach is to celebrate the individual's strengths, in nonjudgmental collaboration, which leverages the mind-body-heart connection. I work with an integrative approach, tailored to your style. We can leverage sensorimotor (body), structured (worksheets), trauma focused, mindfulness, brief focused therapy, and conversational styles. We identify your goals, develop a plan, measure our progress, and create tools for your post therapy maintenance.
I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, workplace stress, life transitions, relationship issues, LGBTQ+, and coping skills in today's ever-changing environment. I appreciate the cultural diversity of my clients who range from early childhood up to 80 wonderful years of life. The sessions will feel like you since we follow your voice. The style is conversational, and interactive. I have two ground rules- I follow your voice (comfort level and needs) and if you do not feel heard, politeness is off the table – tell me! The dignity and resiliency of the human individual have been my compass and source of awe. My experience in the business world, supporting marginalized groups, and walking in nature, have taught me one lesson- it’s not just “mental health.” It’s about life in all its myriad facets and challenges. That’s the path we walk. And a path that I would be honored to walk with you.
Goal setting gives us a sense of direction. Goal setting is not immoveable. We create a direction and determine the size of steps that will get us there. If new destinations arise, we work with those. We always focus on the “why” a goal is important to ensure it fits your needs. Our first session is designed to create a sense of safety, comfort, and hope within you. There is no one size fits all therapist. It is important to me that you feel a sense of connection. We will discuss typical sessions and approaches based upon the information you feel safe presenting in that first session. It is designed to honor your courage.
