Mental health has been Asanté's passion since childhood. She is specifically passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, and middle-aged adults. She enjoys working with clients who have a desire for change. Asanté McCoy completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Winston-Salem State University. Asanté has a history of providing therapy in integrated healthcare settings from ages 5-80. She specifically provided therapy to people who are underserved and of lower socioeconomic status. Asanté also has a personal history of growing up impoverished and was raised by a single mother. This, coupled with her professional experience, enables her to empathize with the clients she serves. Asanté focuses on building a rapport with clients prior to going in depth in therapy. Asanté utilizes various treatment approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, gestalt therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and various others. Life can bring you so many problems. Asanté is confident that both her professional and personal experience can be of assistance to you on your journey. Therapy requires hard work and Asanté is here to put in just as much work as you to assist with whatever life is throwing at you. If you're ready, schedule an appointment with her today!
