My Approach to Helping
This world can be an unkind one. Although you do your best to cope as well as you can, the stress can often overwhelm your threshold. Many struggle with this accumulated anxiety and trauma, although it can appear in many different ways. It can be unclear why you feel as you do - you just know you feel bad. Or maybe there is an identifiable event, life transition, behavioral pattern, or negative belief that hurts more over time, like a sexual trauma, instability in personal relationships, the transition to parenthood, or lack of motivation. Left unchecked, this stress can become toxic to your life and impair your ability to cope.
Eight years of clinical experience working with attachment, complex trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, life transitions, and general stress management in adolescents and adults has afforded me a unique perspective. I am trained in EMDR, Maternal Mental Health (including perinatal mood disorders), and hold a Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher certificate.
Healing often comes from learning to navigate and find balance between two worlds. Together, we will personalize a plan for treatment that feels the most intuitive to you. My approach offers more traditional cognitive-behavioral modalities, as well as mind-body ones, to facilitate safety, remembrance, and re-connection, for well-being in an unwell world.
