My Approach to Helping
I hold a master’s degree in social work from The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. I am rostered in trauma work through the North Carolina Child Treatment Program, a collaboration between Duke and UNC. I have extensive experience working with children and adults involved in the social service (foster care), educational and judicial settings. My other training includes foundations for communication with trauma survivors; Mental Health First Aid for Teens through the National Council for Mental Well Being; CRM skills through the Trauma Resource Institute; and I am a trained forensic interviewer.
I have been practicing mental health for the past seven years and working with trauma survivors, primarily children, for the past 18 years. I am dual licensed in NC and VA. My goal is to help my clients overcome their trials and learn the skills they need to be successful. I genuinely believe in the concept of HOPE and that together, we can find solutions.
