My Approach to Helping
I believe the therapeutic process is integrative, and can be rooted with cognitive-behavioral theory serving as the therapeutic foundation to incorporate ideas and strategies from other therapeutic models, including relational-cultural, interpersonal, and acceptance. My clinical work ranges on a spectrum of mental health challenges but is specialized in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. While committed to promoting the mental health of all people, I purposefully focus on serving the mental health needs of LGBTQ+ clients. My therapeutic style is warm, accepting, and non-judgmental. Clients working with me will be invited and challenged to work collaboratively to construct a growth-promoting therapeutic relationship characterized by combinations of gentleness and firmness, criticality and creativity, and dependence and independence.
