My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have over 30 years of clinical experience with a foundation of assisting individuals with emotional trauma. I specialize in psychotherapeutic treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. I am also an experienced family and couples therapy practitioner. I received my Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work in 1989, with a concentration in comprehensive health while working in the public sector providing child protective services.
Areas of expertise for me include solution-focused treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), depression and anxiety, childhood sexual abuse and trauma, domestic violence, addictions, family therapy, group therapy and play therapy. I have also completed Level II EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training, specifically to help clients who are dealing with trauma, crisis, and PTSD.
