My Approach to Helping
From the first therapy session I'll be focusing on "who" you are as a person. I start from the natural assumption that most of the people who come to me for help will be articulate, capable, competent, high functioning, intelligent and good problem solvers. You get stressed out, stuck, and unhappy. Your relationships become strained. It becomes increasingly difficult to filter and sort through the complex issues you face. Just clearing the time from your busy schedule to come in for your first therapy session has been a challenge. You are hoping/wishing for some real help today.....
One of the first things I often request of my new clients, even before I ask them, "Why now? Why not six months ago, or six months from now?," is......"Please, take a few deep breaths and sit back and relax. You are most welcome here."
More Info About My Practice
I prefer to discuss the business/financial aspects of the therapy process in person or on the phone. I do accept most insurance, though to ensure their confidentiality many clients choose to pay for therapy themselves. The best time to call for information is in the a.m. when you are most likely to catch us before the therapy day begins.
