What's My Approach to Therapy?

At Heal and Thrive Counseling, we help our clients become empowered in their situation. Whether it may be a diagnosis, a trauma, loss of a loved one, or a sudden change in one's life, we help clients work through the uncomfortableness to become more empowered and satisfied in their lives and with themselves. My personal approach is authentic and genuine, combined with real-life experiences. Together, we will find what happiness looks like to you and work toward this goal. We only have ourselves to make the difference that we want.

Choosing a counselor is a personal process. All counselors are different and are going to have their own ways of treating clients. My approach is human-centered, which means that my main focus is on you and on your needs. Once we have established the issues you are coping with, we will approach which type of therapy is best for you.

My Practice & Services

What sets me apart from other counselors is my background in art. I have a BFA in Painting and have studied in Italy. I am highly creative which helps me think "outside the box". I have creative approaches to how I treat my clients. Everyone is different and requires different techniques.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Seeking out therapy can feel overwhelming and scary. The process is different for everyone and there is no 'right' way to seek help. I have been told by my clients that my laid back attitude helps them feel at ease and that they are not in therapy but rather confiding in someone that may have some insight. When I have reached the level of trust with a client, they become more into the process and want to keep reaching toward what they truly want. I hope to make you feel comfortable and at ease.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

As your therapist, I bring life experience. Having gone through my own struggles, I have found the importance of therapy and the experience can be life changing, if you let it. I know the overwhelming feeling of perseverance and wear it like a badge of honor. Our struggles make us more well rounded humans beings. We learn how to cope and then help others. I look forwards to going on this journey with you.
