I believe that we all have an innate tendency towards health and wholeness. Every so often, life events and situations can get in the way of accessing our inner resources to achieve growth and healing. Psychotherapy can be a valuable tool to firmly place you back on the path to living a full life.
When we are faced with major or recurring life stressors we can be overwhelmed and seeking additional support, such as therapy, is a natural and positive step in taking care of oneself. I can collaborate with you to help navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, sadness, low self-esteem, anger, confusion, and loneliness. In order to do this, I provide a warm, compassionate and safe environment for you to delve into deep and perhaps difficult emotions to provoke profound insights. I strive to bring about experiences in therapy that promote understanding, self-acceptance, and desired changes.
An important facet of enjoying a fulfilling life lies in cultivating meaningful, loving, and secure relationships. In some instances, we find that maintaining such positive qualities in relationships is especially challenging. Having a non-judgmental, unbiased, and caring person provide different perspectives as well as techniques to lower distress and improve connection can be particularly useful. Through couples therapy and co-therapy I provide the space to explore and clarify goals of each person in the relationship and guide them in aligning their actions to their values.
As we go about life, we have numerous experiences that we absorb through our mind, body, and spirit. In therapy, I encourage the integration of these aspects of the self through verbal processing, mindfulness practices, somatic awareness, and expressive arts.
As an immigrant woman of color based in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am passionate about working with diverse and minority populations. In particular, I can help you explore issues of intergenerational conflict, raising bi/multi-cultural children, loss of home of origin, microagressions and marginalization, trans-generational, and historical trauma.
I work with Individuals of all ages, Couples, and Groups of any culture, ethnicity, race, religious group, sexual orientation, or gender identity. I am committed to making psychotherapy accessible across various financial situations and reserve some reduced fee spaces based on income.
