Most of my clients come in for help with life's transitions and stressors - relationship, career, family, personal issues, grief. Symptoms of anxiety and depression can certainly be a result of disturbance/worry in these areas. Sometimes, anxiety or depression have always been with you, despite ups and downs in your lifestyle. I often hear, "I just thought I should talk to someone." Processing what is going on in a safe, non-critical arena can be of infinite value when you are the one who is experiencing difficulty. You may benefit from non-critical feedback, exploring and support for change.

If you would like couples counseling, but your partner will not participate, consider individual counseling to help you with stress and communication.
