More Info About My Practice

My own approach to authentic self and healing is called Essential Voice Expressions (EVE). EVE weaves the power of the resonant voice and the body's innate ability to sense into emotional release. For years I have taught intuitive singing, toning, and guided meditation. Now I am combining these with my Somatic work and much more, to create a powerful method to release trauma and inhabit your fullest self.

I am certified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Somatic Experiencing (SE) involves the body's power to identify is own path of healing. Traumatic marks are released though careful presence and loving consciousness of felt sense in the body. SE is an approach that heals trauma, and enables one to let go of the blocks and pain that weigh down an array of experiences. It is a very effective, delicate path to vitality.

With years of work in Self Relations Therapy and Generative Trance, I gracefully balance focus on the mind, or our thinking self; the body, or sensing self; and the field or general energies like spirit and nature. The Self-Relations approach respects the whole person, and gathers resources from all these aspects of the self into play.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

My strength as a therapist is to help you reclaim the freedom of your true voice, and the power of your intuitive wisdom. As you make the brave decision to begin healing, echoes from past traumas may hinder your ability to move forward, keeping you "stuck". By accessing your own natural senses and broader wisdoms, your ability to fully express your true aliveness becomes real. Roadblocks become doorways. For 26 years, I have guided clients to recover from trauma and anxiety, and to regain a robust sense of what is possible.
"Seven Notes to Freedom" is my step by step guide through expressive immobilization to resonant reclamation of your soul's truest voice. For trauma survivors, personal safety and freedom is everything. With kindness, courage, and new essential practices in your life, let yourself release the past and embrace your life.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

When you are selecting the right therapist for yourself, trust your gut feeling. The therapeutic relationship should not be a struggle. You should feel a sense of resonance and feeling 'gotten' by your therapist. And although the relationship of therapy is a unique professional dyad, it should not feel false, or forced. This, after all, is a very REAL relationship. That is what ultimately gives it its healing power. So look for authenticity, as well as professionalism and integrity, as you find the right therapist for you.
