Billing and Insurance

I am an in-network provider for:

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee Program
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona
  • Humana
  • Prime Health Services, Inc
  • Tricare
  • MINES & Associates

Fees: $100-$150 per hour fee for non insurance clients.
For insurance companies of which I am not a provider: I can provide documentation and a Superbill for you to submit for "out of network" provider coverage with me. After the deductible is met, which is usually $300-$3000 per year, the co-pay is generally lower than for in network coverage. With a few insurance companies there is no difference in coverage.

As a psychotherapist for 4 decades, I recognize how vital it is to honor each client as an individual and to show that client how to recognize and reveal thoughts and emotions. Clear communication with others is essential. Feelings and events impact us in such drastic ways. Knowledge of the "pause" and respect towards destiny are essential. I include and invite any immediate or non family members who are intricately involved in the client's life. Transparency, negotiation, and acceptance are key therapeutic words. One's reaction to life events is a choice. Whether in the mind, emotions, or spirit, everything is possible.

I work with children over the of age 8 or younger if the issues are related to other family members ie. Discipline. My specialties are: adolescent, family, and marital counseling. Therapy modalities that I use include Gestalt, Adlerian, EMDR, Christian, Hypnosis, and Family Systems Therapy. I, also, give homework, whether behavioral, written, or reading assignments, that a client can do outside the session. In my experience mere talk is not enough and the client needs to practice and experience changes outside the therapy session.

Because I feel a therapist should not interfere but enhance an individual or family life I am wiling to schedule extended hours: weekday evening and Saturday morning appointments. For no additional charge. Good thing I am a night owl!
I, also, am available to clients on an emergency basis.

More Info About My Practice

I have a free standing office built next to my home in central Tucson near the University with easy access to the I10 freeway. Clients may drive from Vail, Sahuarita, Marana, Catalina, and Oro Valley and arrive in between 20-30 minutes. I do weekday evening appointments and some Saturday mornings. Clients may contact me by phone or e-mail in order to discuss initial therapy issues and arrange an appointment. Most referrals and clients begin sessions for a minimum of 1 to 2 times per week or more frequently if it is an urgent. Clients know that I can be reached by phone to talk to in an emergency for up to 15 min. at no charge or can see me for an urgent session within 24 hours. Sessions are 45 min. in length. Longer sessions of 60 min. or more are available depending upon the situation and the client.
I am available for appointments from approximately 10 AM in the morning to 8 PM in the evening during the weekdays. I can schedule Saturday appointments, as well. My goal is to not interfere in the client?s work schedule or home environment. That would just be creating an additional issue!

I am bilingual in Spanish. Most clients just need to bring their insurance card and co-payment for the initial visit. I accept cash, money order, or personal check. And yes, now I can accept credit and debit cards with the Square card reader!

In addition, if the client or one member of the family lives outside of Tucson I am able to do sessions by Skype.

My fee is based on insurance or self pay. I accept most insurances. If I am not a contracted provider with a particular insurance company most pay for out of network therapists, as well.
