My Approach to Helping
It is best to come from where the client begins as a starting point instead of imposing a perspective that may not work for clients. I focus on mindful awareness and self acceptance so that the client can become a more empowered person. Through looking at the client's strengths and working with the function of the behavior, I work with clients to first understand themselves before looking to find new tools to work with. I use different modalities and always give room for clients' suggestions.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I enjoy witnessing the unfolding of growth. To see how clients change. Things may seem to take a while while one is in middle of a life change, I love to reflect back to my clients how far they've come. To be the one to witness a journey of growth is a wonderful experience. Becoming a therapist has been my dream for many years and it is amazing to see it come to life.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

Idealy, the client will choose a therapist based on how they feel the relationship will be. There should be a level of comfort with a therapist in the first session. The client will hopefully also feel challenged in a safe and comfortable way. this may mean that the session will stay with them as they work through issues during the week, helping them to feel motivated outside of the session. So, the client should chose a therapist that they feel comfortable with.
