My Approach to Helping

I believe that there is very little that true acceptance, understanding, and validation cannot heal. I have very genuine and thoughtful relationships with my clients, as I believe it is the relationship that mends, rather than purely change in behavior or thought alone. I love work with teens and young adults, because I believe I bring a certain humor and understanding to the pressured lives of the young person. I tend to use strengths-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and attachment work in my Interpersonal approach to supporting my clients learn about themselves, those around them, and the actions, thoughts, and feelings we each bring to the table to create our situations.

I do not take insurance at this time, although I try my hardest to accommodate any financial stressors my clients experience by offering sliding scale fees.

I work with teens, young adults, and their families to feel more loved, connected, and understood, throughout the process of recovery from drug and/or alcohol use. I truly enjoy working with teens and young adults who are "stuck" or "acting out", and I feel I lend a genuine, down to earth perspective and validation that many youth cannot receive from other sources. I give acceptance and understanding to those misunderstood.
