My Approach to Helping
"Real" connections with others are what give us meaning in life...yet seemingly difficult to achieve, and so overwhelming to even thinking about trying to fix, alone. The root of chronic dissatisfaction (feeling anxious/ depressive symptoms such as consistent worry, fear, sleep difficulty, irritability, obsessive and compulsive behaviors/thoughts low self esteem, hopelessness) stems from issues preventing us from truly engaging openly and honestly with others, including the people we love most. Together with your unconscious and conscious experiences, emotions, behaviors, dreams and my empathic listening and interpreting skills, we will identify (feel, own, accept) certain emotions...needs, fears, pains...that provide you clarity, relief, joy and an overall sense of safety. This attuned process will foster a positive shift in how you experience-engage and communicate certain emotions, thoughts, or behaviors. Soon, you internalize/adopt these tools that will help you to tolerate, regulate and integrate the feelings that will enable you to navigate towards better, less impulsive decisions and achieve a greater quality of life.
I work closely with issues of social anxieties and uncertainties in group/social situations as I recognize this to be a key factor in contributing to self esteem, anxiety and depression.
